The Christmas Tag

It’s almost Christmas! I am jumping on the blogger Christmas Tag train and answering a few fun questions about myself and the holiday season!

What is your favorite Christmas movie?
Elf! “I just like to smile; smiling’s my favorite

Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yes! Having lived in Illinois, Colorado and Connecticut I know for a fact there has been snow on the ground during past Christmases but I am not 100% sure that snow actually fell from the sky on Christmas Day.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Before our son was born my husband and I would switch off hosting with my parents. One year we would be at our home and the next we would be at theirs. Now that we have our son and there are infinitely more gifts, we always do Christmas at our home. I always loved waking up in my own home on Christmas morning, rushing down the stairs to see if Santa came and I hope my son will always get that opportunity.

What is your favorite Christmas song?
Without a doubt, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays by N’SYNC

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
The only present that is opened is a special Christmas Ever present for my son. We wrap up a Christmas themed book and a cozy pair of Christmas jammies.

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Donner, Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Rudolph, Vixen — this took me a couple tries of singing the song.

What makes the holiday special for you?
As a parent I do not think there are many things more memorable than experiencing something through the eyes of your child that meant so much to you when you were young. The wonderment and awe of all things Christmas – lights and decorations, snow, presents, Santa – is something I look forward to experiencing with my son each and every year.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Real! Click here to find out how why!

What is your all-time favorite holiday food/treat?
Pretty much any cookie my mom bakes but my all-time favorite are pecan tassie nut-cups. I could eat a whole batch myself!

Honesty is the best policy: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
I love receiving gifts just as much as the next person but giving gifts brings me so much happiness. There is nothing I love more than seeing the excitement and joy on someone’s face when they open a gift and you can tell in their eyes and smile that it is something they truly love. Last year we gifted my parents a custom made (by my husband) ’Walker’s Landing’ sign for their lake house. My mom cried the happiest of tears and it will be a moment I remember forever.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Who-ville!!! Oh, it needs to be an actual place? Well then. Aspen, CO.

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
Pro! Color coordinating wrapping paper and giant wired ribbon bows is the only way to go. Also, the more glitter the better!

Do you make a New Years resolution? Do you stick to it?
I don’t. I made them a few times when I was younger because it is the “cool” thing to do but I never stuck to them. Now that I am older I believe you should make resolutions throughout your life whenever they are needed, not on one single day of the year.

I would love to hear your answers to one or all of the questions above in the comments below!
